| Customer Reviews: A good snack item February 16, 2010 Fred Camfield (Vicksburg, MS USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a good item for a light meal. There are many varieties of smoked salmon. This one does not have an overpowering smoke flavor (which some people do not like). It tends to be a best buy compared to similar products, and is sometimes available in the seafood section in supermarkets. It is a good source of Omega 3. It comes in an easy to tear open package, but be forewarned that packages contain some amount of oil, and it is necessary to use care in opening the package.
Great for the right use September 7, 2009 cathyB 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This smoked salmon is very mild in smokiness. Perfect as an ingredient where you do not want an overwhelming taste, such as mousse. Not ideal to serve alone as part of an appetizer as you would most smoked salmon. Convienient packaging. Great price.
Strong smoked flavor, hard to taste the salmon, and April 2, 2010 A Research It Maven (USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
the saltiness is extreme. Salmon should taste slightly sweet, and these do not. To me, the saltiness is overpowering. Pouch contains 3 oz of smoked salmon in a filet that does not hold its shape. If you dont add salt, this is good salmon for pate, sandwich spread, or patties, but not pretty for presentation, and has definate smoke flavor. If you dont like smoke, you'll find these filets offensive. Shelf stable. A better, tastier, fish choice is Chicken of the Sea Genova Tonno, 3 Ounce Tins (Pack of 24) which is mild and delicious right out of the can.

WAY to salty June 9, 2010 Kyung Yang (Flushing, NY) I'm the type that likes spicy and salty food, but this one is way too salty. It's so overpowering that you can't taste the fish.
Chicken of the SALTY Sea June 10, 2010 bamabob (alabama) As other reviewers have stated, this product is way too salty. Maybe that's a requirement for the unrefrigerated packaging to help preserve the salmon. Maybe it's because most all processed and packaged food contains way too much salt these days. If you like smoked salmon stick to the packs in your grocers meat coolers. Maybe this would be better if rinsed in cold water before consuming.
